SDE provides Safety and Environmental Management support to Defence General Munitions (DGM) Project Team as part of a multi-year contract. SDE provided Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel (SQEP) as the technical lead to undertake the support required to manage DGM’s diverse range of Ordnance, Munitions and Explosives (OME) stores and equipment.

SDE’s Land Systems Safety team have deep domain knowledge (Def Stan 00-56 and JSP 520) and impressive track record in the use and provision of safety, environmental and technical documentation and management support within both DGM PT and the wider MOD.

In FY 17/18 SDE have supported DGM as part of a wider Weapons Operating Centre Programme to review and update Safety and Environmental Case Reports (SECRs) across all areas of DGM PT enabling Ordnance Safety Review Panel (OSRP) Assurance Statements (OAS) to be maintained.

To deliver this task SDE provided a dedicated team of safety personnel to support the DGM Project Managers and Safety Officers to achieve the agreed programme of work. SDE reviewed the current SECRs and new information made available by the DGM PM’s and then made recommended changes to bring the SECRs, particularly Hazard Logs in line with the updated DGM Safety and Environmental Management Plan (SEMP) and to incorporate new information. The updated SECRs were then reviewed at an SMR or PSEP depending on the level of change required before being finally updated for Desktop Review by DGM PT and formal Issue.

Safety and Environmental Management is a core element of SDE’s business. SDE has a deeply developed understanding of Safety and Environmental policies and legislation and has successfully delivered support to a wide range of MoD Project Teams.
