SDE have recently been awarded a contract by Heckler & Koch (HK) to conduct Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing to the L84A1 7.62mm Chain Gun due for integration into Scout SV.
The programme is a continuation of the previous testing to characterise the electromagnetic susceptibility and emissions of the system to enable Scout SV design engineers to identify overall system compliance. In addition, the outputs of the programme are expected to generate useful characterisation data to enable design engineers to develop supporting Electronic Architecture (EA) to allow integration of the weapon into Armoured Fighting Vehicle (AFV).
To assist with the delivery of the task SDE have engaged AQL EMC Limited to form part of the trials team, demonstrating SDE’s ability to draw together the required expertise and skills to deliver successful trials outcomes.
